The Naturalization Process
Naturalization is the process by which a foreign citizen obtains U.S. citizenship. For persons who did not automatically acquire citizenship through birth to U.S citizen parents, through automatic derivation through naturalized parents, or through birth in the U.S., this process is the only way to acquire the rights and benefits of U.S. citizenship. Fortunately, the naturalization process is fairly straightforward.
